MISS BIRMINGHAM

An Official Scholarship Preliminary of the Miss Alabama and Miss America Pageants

Haley Arrington was crowned Miss Birmingham 2010 on November 8, 2009. She is a native of Glencoe, Alabama and is a graduate of Jacksonville University with a degree in Music Education. Haley is currently attending Jacksonville University, where she is pursuing a master's degree in Vocal Performance.

Haley's platform is Big Brothers Big Sisters. This program is the oldest, largest and most effective youth mentoring program in the United States. The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with mentors and that those who are mentored are more confident, able to develop better familial relationships, less likely to begin using illegal drugs and/or alchohol and are less likely to skp school.

Haley is combining her skills in public speaking and vocal performance to bring awareness that this program has a lasting impact on today's youth and creates a ripple effect through generations of those who have participated.

Haley will be competing in the 2010 Miss Alabama Pageant June 2 - 5, 2010 as a representative of the Greater Birmingham Metro Area.
